Jorge P. Gutierrez Jr. is a Board Certified attorney who has litigated claims throughout Florida in the areas of serious personal injury and wrongful death, and medical malpractice. He also has commercial litigation experience in matters related to healthcare. In addition, he has handled arbitration disputes before the American Arbitration Association as well as the American Health Lawyers Association.

Gutierrez is a member of the Florida Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, as well as the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. He is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts. He is also a member of the Dade County Bar, Miami-Dade Justice Association, Cuban-American Bar Association, National Latino Trial Lawyers Association and Florida Justice Association. He is Board Certified in Civil Trial by the Florida Bar Association, which means he has special knowledge, skills, and proficiency and professionalism and ethics in practice.

Born and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida, Gutierrez received his law degree from St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami. He earned his bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in creative writing from Florida State University. There, he was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity.

Gutierrez is also a nationally recognized sportsman and conservationist with an interest in the Florida Everglades, wildlife management, fisheries and natural resources. As a lifelong advocate for public access and recreation on state and federal public lands and waters, he was elected president of the Everglades Coordinating Council, a consortium of vastly different and diverse Florida sportsmen and conservation organizations. As a result of his involvement in these issues, he has testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Natural Resources on wildlife conservation and sportsmen issues and was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of the Interior to serve on the Big Cypress National Preserve Off-Road Vehicle Advisory Committee.

Gutierrez lives in Miami with his wife and their two children. He speaks both English and Spanish.
