Austin Tighe began his legal career at Fulbright & Jaworski before practicing at Weil, Gotshal & Manges and the Austin office of 800-lawyer Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, where he was a partner in the firmís Complex Litigation Group. Over a ten-year period, he represented some of the largest corporations in America in personal injury cases and consumer class actions. Today, he uses the insights and knowledge he gained from those experiences to develop effective strategies for suing corporations and insurance companies.
Mr. Tigheís practice is focused on pharmaceutical mass torts, class actions, and business trial law. He represents more than 1600 families whose loved ones were injured or killed while using the dialysate GranuFloÆ, in consolidated lawsuits in Boston and Los Angeles.†He is currently co-lead counsel in seventeen putative consumer class actions, a number of which are nationwide claims on behalf of tens of thousands of potential class members.
Mr. Tighe was ranked as one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in Texas by the National Trial Lawyers Association, and selected as a Super Lawyer by†Texas Monthly†magazine in its annual survey.
In addition to being admitted to practice before the Supreme Courts and all Federal Courts in Texas and Illinois, Mr. Tighe has been admitted to practice in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, the District of Columbia Circuit Court of Appeals, the Court of Federal Claims, the District Court of Arizona, the Arizona Supreme Court, the Northern and Central District Courts of California, the Southern District Court of Florida, the Middle District Court of Georgia, the District Court of New Jersey, the District Court of New Mexico, the Northern District Court of Ohio and the Northern District Court of Oklahoma.
Mr. Tighe is a member of the National Board of Directors of Justice for Children, co-chair of the Austin Bar Associationís Peopleís Law School, a Founding Fellow of the Austin Bar Foundation, and in February 2012, was invited by the American Bar Association to become a member of its Advisory Panel.
