Brett J. Kaminsky, Esquire is a recent addition to Weiss & Paarz and its Philadelphia office. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey as well as before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Prior to his joining the firm, Mr. Kaminsky spent time at a prominent Philadelphia law firm focusing on medical malpractice and personal injury. Within the past two years alone, he has assisted in recovering over $35 million for his clients. As a result of his hard work, dedication and success, Mr. Kaminsky was named to the National Trial Lawyers: ”Top 40 Under 40” as well as selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star, an achievement awarded to 2.5% of attorneys under the age of 40.
Prior to his success representing client’s who have been catastrophically injured, Mr. Kaminsky spent time at a top medical malpractice defense firm in Philadelphia where he trained under one of the nation’s best defense attorneys and assisted in authoring the “Professional Liability Update”, a handbook used by attorney’s state-wide.
Mr. Kaminsky has represented a variety of clients from all socio-economic backgrounds as well as physicians, physician assistants and hospitals in high liability exposure cases. Mr. Kaminsky’s knowledge and experience gained through his defense firm training creates an invaluable contribution to his clients with his unique ability to analyze cases from both sides.
Background and Education
Mr. Kaminsky attended the University of Maryland, College Park to receive his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice. After graduating, Mr. Kaminsky came “home” and attended Drexel University’s Thomas R. Kline School of Law.
During his time in law school, Mr. Kaminsky was a member of the nationally ranked Trial Team, where he competed on the national stage, earning him a graduation award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy as well as two Performance Awards in Trial Advocacy. In addition, he was a Board Member on the school’s Moot Court team and selected as one of his graduating classes’ Commencement Speakers.
Mr. Kaminsky was later asked back to his law school alma mater to assist in coaching the school’s #3 Nationally Ranked trial team.
Community Involvement and Professional Memberships
During his time in law school, Mr. Kaminsky was part of the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project, where he taught local high school students Constitution Law and coached them at a National Competition, earning him a graduation award for Excellence in Teaching and Community Service.
Additionally, Mr. Kaminsky is a volunteer and contributor at “Philly Reads” teaching local 2nd - 4th graders how to read.
Mr. Kaminsky is a member of the American Bar Association (YLD), Pennsylvania Bar Association, Philadelphia Bar Association, Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association and the Pennsylvania Association of Justice.
