David S. Casey, Jr., the senior managing partner of Casey Gerry, has been recognized on eight different occasions by the Los Angeles Daily Journal as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in California.  He recently successfully represented the family of Tony Gwynn against U.S. Tobacco and the family of Junior Seau against the National Football League.  In addition, he was recently appointed by the Federal Court to the Plaintiffs Steering Committee to bring an action against Volkswagen for emissions fraud, resulting in the largest consumer settlement in the history of the United States.  In the last two years, he has been rated as one of the Top 10 Lawyers in San Diego by SuperLawyers and on three occasions as one of the Top 30 Plaintiffs Trial Lawyers in California by the Los Angeles Daily Journal.

He has been a leader in the national trial bar, serving as President of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (now AAJ), as well as President of the Consumer Attorneys of California.  He was honored by the San Diego County Bar Association as Lawyer of the Year, as well as inducted into the San Diego Bar’s Legends of the Bar. He was honored to be inducted by the San Diego Consumer Attorneys into its Trial Lawyer Hall of Fame.

Casey oversees Casey Gerry, which in its 72nd year, is the oldest personal injury firm in San Diego and one of the oldest personal injury firms in California. In 2001, he played a pivotal role as one of the lawyers who helped create the September 11th Victims Compensation Fund and helped as President of the Association of Trial Lawyers to see it through to its successful conclusion in 2004.  This program was the largest pro bono program in the history of American jurisprudence, resulting in billions of dollars being recovered for the families who lost their loved ones on September 11th.

David and his wife Lisa enjoy traveling with the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. They have two children, David and Shannon. Outside of his family and the law, his passions are tennis and skiing.
