John began his legal career clerking for the Honorable Harold Lowenstein of the Missouri Court of Appeals. After a stint at a small insurance defense firm, he worked at the Missouri Attorney General's Office where he tried numerous cases on behalf of the State of Missouri. He went on to represent a variety of corporations at a boutique products liability law firm, was Counsel at Employers Reinsurance Corporation, and was Counsel at Employers Reinsurance Corporation, and eventually became a partner at Shook, Hardy & Bacon L.L.P., one of the country's premier product liability defense firms. There, John focused his practice on mass tort resolution programs and was lead resolution counsel in numerous significant litigations, including Baycol, PPA, Renu MoistureLoc, Trasylol, and Yaz/Yasmin. After nearly two decades solely representing Fortune 500 companies, John and a colleague opened the boutique firm of Jackson Schreiner LLC.
John is currently licensed to practice before all state and federal courts in Missouri and Kansas, including the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals. John is further on the approved list of outside mediators for the Mediation and Assessment Program for the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri. He is a member of the Association of Missouri Mediators, and a member of the American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution.
John graduated from the University of Missouri - Columbia school of law and served as a member of the Missouri Law Review. He received his undergraduate degree in Sociology from the University of Missouri - Columbia.
