She attended St. Mary?s University School of Law in San Antonio Texas and received her JD degree in 1986. She returned to the DC metro area and was admitted into the bars of Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Kathleen Burke is a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the Fairfax Bar Association and the state bars of Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. For many years Ms. Burke has been involved in her local community as PTA chair for cultural arts, athletic booster and soccer coach. She resides in Fairfax county with her family.
