He is board certified by The Florida Bar in Civil Trial Law and in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocates. His areas of focus include complex, serious personal injury and wrongful death cases. He has tried over 70 cases, with more than 60 to verdict.

Active in several professional organizations, Mr. Posgay is a member of the Board of Directors of the Florida Justice Association (FJA). He has been honored by the FJA multiple times with the "Shoe Leather Award for his dedicated and effective contributions to their legislative agenda. In 2010, Mr. Posgay was selected to the Florida Super Lawyer List, exclusive to 5% of lawyers in Florida and has been named to the list each year since then.
Currently, Mr. Posgay is the Vice-President of the Jacksonville Justice Association. He is an Associate of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), currently serving as the chapter's secretary, as well as a member of the American Association for Justice and the American Bar Association.
