Currently best known for her defense of Kobe Bryant, she practices criminal defense and complex civil litigation as a shareholder at Haddon, Morgan, Mueller, Jordan, Mackey & Foreman, P.C., in Denver, Colorado.

Recognized for the last several years as one of the top 10 lawyers in Colorado, she is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, and was selected by her peers in 2003 as the Best of the Bar in individual criminal defense.

Ms. Mackey has successfully defended federal white collar cases at trial in the areas of anti-trust, tax, environmental law and mortgage fraud. Her criminal practice continues to also include state court crimes such as homicide and sexual assault.

She regularly speaks and publishes in the area of criminal defense. She is formerly of the Colorado Public Defender's Office (1989-1994). She received her J.D. with highest honors from The George Washington University Law School in 1985 where she served as Executive Editor of The George Washington Law Review. Her undergraduate degree is in Journalism. She received her B.S. from The University of Colorado at Boulder in 1981 with highest honors. She is a past-president of the Colorado Women's Bar Association.
