Paul H. Cannon has represented personal injury victims at Simmons and Fletcher, P.C., since he earned his law degree in 1995. Originally, Paul has a heart for litigation. “I went to law school because I wanted to try lawsuits,“ says Paul. During his last year of law school at the South Texas College of Law, Paul answered a blind advertisement from Simmons and Fletcher, P.C., where he was hired on as a law clerk for Keith Fletcher. Despite being told it was just a clerkship position with no room for growth, Paul earned a permanent position at the firm after graduating and passing the bar in 1995.
The responsibility of representing injured victims, the face-to-face interactions, and the ever-evolving challenges presented under law, are all facets Paul has devoted his career to sincerely understanding. “When you’re putting people’s lives back together, you can get a jury to feel what your client feels,” Paul explains. In 2005, his hard-work and dedication earned him Board Certification in Personal Injury Trial Law.
When interacting with others, whether it’s a client or a juror, Paul emphasizes the importance of connecting with them as people, not simply as an attorney. “It’s a truly unique experience,” he explains. The process of understanding each person and achieving goals within the confines of the law are vital components of representation that Paul welcomes, utilizing his experience to overcome any obstacles that may arise.

Paul married his wife Heather in 2001 and they are the proud parents of 2 children. In his free time, Paul enjoys playing the drums and going to soccer games with his family. He has been a six-ticket season ticket holder for the Houston Dash since the team’s inception. He keeps two extra tickets so that he can invite and introduce newcomers to the women’s soccer games. “I do it in hopes that the league will continue to grow and my daughter will have the option to play professionally one day,” says Paul. It’s no surprise that when asked what his greatest accomplishment was, he did not hesitate to respond, “My children.”
Paul’s main areas of practice include dog bites, auto accidents, 18-wheeler accidents, non-subscriber work injuries, slip and fall accidents and general premises liability claims. He became a shareholder of Simmons and Fletcher, P.C., in 2015. He is also the Online Marketing Manager for the firm.
