Stevens LC was founded by Paul Stevens. Prior to founding Stevens LC, Stevens experience included nearly two decades at three of the most successful complex civil litigation law firms in the United States (Girardi & Keese, Quisenberry & Kabateck, LLP and Milstein Adelman, LLP). During his 13 year tenure at Milstein Adelman, LLP, he served as Senior Partner for 10 years, was a founding member and supervising Partner of the firm's Consumer Class Action Litigation Group, and founded and supervised the firm's Mass Tort Litigation Group.
During his professional career, Stevens has been appointed lead class counsel in several state and federal class actions and has represented thousands of plaintiffs in over 750 complex actions, recovering over $900 million. Stevens has also briefed and argued significant precedent setting class action issues at the California Court of Appeal and United States Supreme Court.
Stevens is admitted to the State Bar of California as well as the United States Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the Central, Northern, Southern and Eastern Districts of California, the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Illinois, U.S. District Court Eastern District of Missouri, and the U.S. District Court, Southern District of West Virginia. Stevens has served as a member of the American Association for Justice, the Board of Governors for the Consumer Attorney's of California and served as a panel member for the Los Angeles County Complex Court Symposium.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Stevens was a Public Affairs Consultant with Cerrell Associates, Inc., where he worked in the areas of government affairs, public relations, transportation and infrastructure planning, political campaigns (local and national) and media relations. Stevens's work included direct advocacy activities with members of the United States Congress, California Legislature and various transportation, environmental and local government bodies. Stevens also did advance work for former Vice President Al Gore, Jr., and crisis and litigation communications programs for, among others, the PG&E hexavalent chromium litigation (Erin Brockovich).
Stevens attended Southwestern University School of Law's SCALE program, the only ABA approved 2 year accelerated Juris Doctorate program in the nation, and served as a law clerk at the United States District Court, Ninth Circuit, Central District of California.
