A career criminal defense attorney, Ms. Chaudhry has attained an extraordinary reputation as an intelligent, highly-experienced, well-respected, thorough, and aggressive advocate for her clients. She has handled all types of criminal matters, ranging from the most sophisticated white-collar cases to murder.  Ms. Chaudhry has tried 25 criminal jury trials and has extensive experience in the federal and state courts of New York.  She represents individuals in all stages of the criminal process, from internal investigation to trial to post-conviction litigation, and also represents individuals in parallel proceedings related to criminal allegations, such as FINRA, NYSE, and SEC actions. Ms. Chaudhry has been selected as a Super Lawyer for New York 2012 and is one of the twelve Super Lawyers' _Top Women? in Criminal Defense in New York.

Ms. Chaudhry zealously, creatively, and intelligently defends her clients' rights, regardless of the charges leveled against them. She has represented individuals accused of the full gamut of crimes including money laundering, rape, RICO, bank fraud, possession of child pornography, larceny, sophisticated art fraud, insider trading, securities fraud, assault, insurance fraud, organized crime, health care fraud, terrorism, narcotics violations, and homicide. In preparing the strongest defense for her clients, Ms. Chaudhry extensively reviews and analyzes extremely complex evidence such as computer and securities records, business and financial records, forensic evidence, ballistic evidence, and wire tap evidence.  Ms. Chaudhry's excellent reputation for her exceptional preparation of each case has earned her great respect from the bench, her colleagues, and also from her adversaries.

Ms. Chaudhry is a member and former Board of Director of the New York Council of Defense Lawyers and is an adjunct faculty member of the Intensive Trial Advocacy Program at Cardozo Law School.

Before merging her practice with Harris, O'Brien, St. Laurent & Houghteling in 2013, Ms. Chaudhry founded the Law Offices of Priya Chaudhry in 2006.  Prior to that, Ms. Chaudhry worked for Hafetz & Necheles, an elite Manhattan criminal defense boutique.  Previous to that, she worked for The Defender Association in Seattle, Washington, where she represented hundreds of indigent defendants in both misdemeanor and serious felony criminal cases.

Ms. Chaudhry received her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley with High Honors and at the age of 23, was graduated from Northwestern University School of Law.  She is admitted to practice in New York and in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. She is fluent in Hindi and Urdu.
