With 5 years experience in that office, Attorney Sherlock has handled some of the most challenging and serious cases within Alexandria during his tenure. Attorney Sherlock possesses the "inside edge" necesary to meticulously pick apart the government's case at all stages of the criminal process. Shortly after joining Dischley Law, PLLC, Attorney Sherlock was successful in obtaining not guilty verdicts in multiple complicated cases and producing favorable plea agreements for clients on complex DWI cases. Attorney Sherlock's focus is on producing needed results that accomplish the goals of the representation.
In his 5 years as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Alexandria, Attorney Sherlock prosecuted cases ranging from reckless driving and misdemeanor drug possession to rape, racketeering, and murder. He quickly gained a reputation as a tough, fair, and highly skilled prosecutor. He was also called upon to take on numerous special assignments involving advising law enforcement on very serious crimes occurring within his office's jurisdiction.
Attorney Sherlock has trained other lawyers, prosecutors, and law enforcement officers on topics such as domestic violence, criminal street gangs, Fourth and Fifth Amendment issues, educational neglect, animal cruelty, legal/legislative updates, gun rights, and many others. Attorney Sherlock has been spoken at state-wide training conferences for both prosecutors and law enforcement.
Before becoming a prosecutor, Attorney Sherlock worked for one of the top plaintiffs' law firms in Washington, D.C. He was responsible for handling all aspects of civil litigation in wrongful death, medical malpractice, and personal injury cases. Attorney Sherlock worked on high-profile cases including the Fort Totten Metro Crash litigation. Through this experience, Attorney Sherlock developed a passion for helping people who had been injured through the negligence of others.
Sean has served on the board of the Foundation of the Alexandria Bar Association and as Treasurer prior to joining Dischley Law. He was a member of the Alexandria Community Gang Taskforce and the Alexandria Domestic Violence Intervention Program. Sean has guest lectured at American University on topics including Ethics for Trial Lawyers and Litigation Skills. He has also presented at career days where he shared his unique career experiences with students.
Sean graduated cum laude from American University's Washington College of Law, where he was also a Deans Fellow and a member of the International Law Review.
Sean is a graduate of Penn State University, where he earned a BA in Political Science.
