Taylor Smith's career is dedicated to fighting for the under-dog. She has always had a passion for helping others and fighting for those who have suffered injustice and misfortune at no fault of their own. As an associate of Scott J. Corwin, A Professional Law Corporation, Taylor applies her compassion for others to help fight on behalf of injured individuals at their greatest times in need. She is a proud associate of Scott's, who also emulates these principals.
Prior to joining Scott J. Corwin, A Professional Law Corporation, Taylor was an associate with civil litigation firm, Daniels, Fine, Israel, Schonbuch and Lebovits, LLP. Here, Ms. Smith was given a tremendous amount of latitude and independence handling wide ranging catastrophic cases and as a result, has litigation experience well beyond her years. Ms. Smith handled the defense of cases concerning all areas of personal injury law, including but not limited to motor vehicle accidents, motorcycle accidents, bicycle accidents, trucking accidents, pedestrian accidents and premises liability. Ms. Smith was responsible for the case management and handling these lawsuits from their inception up until the time of trial. Taylor's litigation experience includes defending and taking hundreds of expert and other depositions, drafting and opposing demurrers and motions including Motions for Summary Judgment, and significant pre-trial preparation including preparing and opposing motions in limine, exhibit and witness lists and trial briefs. Taylor has developed experience in client management, pre-litigation investigation and evaluation, law and motion practice, legal research, oral arguments and general litigation strategy. Ms. Smith also handled six and seven figure cases in settlement and mediation.
After a few years of practicing law on the defense side, Ms. Smith realized she needed to be on the other side of the "v." Taylor has been able to take her knowledge and aptitude as a defense attorney and channel that experience to be an outstanding plaintiff's attorney, fighting against bad practices of corporate defendants and insurance companies. Prior to that, Ms. Smith worked as an associate for Reback, McAndrews, Kjar, Warford and Stockalper. Here, Ms. Smith specialized in the defense of medical professionals involved in a wide variety of medical disputes. This experience enabled Ms. Smith to cultivate an understanding and knowledge in many areas of medicine and orthopedics, better preparing her to work with injured plaintiffs.
