William has been a trial lawyer since 2006, representing community banks, lawyers and law firms, businesses, and families. He has successfully resolved matters involving commercial disputes, personal injury and negligence, oilfield injuries, product liability, professional negligence, bad faith, financial services, business torts, and contracts. He has represented clients in state and federal courts, probate courts, bankruptcy courts, and arbitration.
William began his career at Bracewell LLP where he tried his first case as lead counsel. Shortly after that trial, William joined Hagans Montgomery & Rustay in 2011. Since then, William has been recognized by Thomson Reuters on its Texas Rising Stars list from 2012-2014 and its Texas Super Lawyers list from 2014-2019.
William graduated from the University of Texas School of Law where he served as managing editor of The Review of Litigation. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Iowa where he was a member of the basketball team. He has published articles in both academic journals and news periodicals and is asked to speak about opening statements and focus groups.
William is actively involved in JDRF (formerly the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). In 2010, William was named JDRF's volunteer of the year. He served on the JDRF Houston Gulf Coast Chapter Board of Directors from 2013-2019 and on the Executive Committee from 2014-2019. He currently serves on the Advisory Board.
